FAQs

How long will my bread last?

Bread made without preservatives require a few extra steps to maintain freshness. Bread stored on the counter (loosely covered) is best enjoyed within 3-4 days. To make your bread last longer, consider utilizing the freezer.

How to freeze my bread?

To freeze sourdough bread, place it in a freezer-safe bag or container. You can freeze it whole, in halves, or sliced for convenience. To defrost, let whole loaves thaw at room temperature (still covered), then reheat in a 350°F oven for 10–15 minutes to refresh the crust. Slices can be toasted straight from frozen.

How should I store my bread?

If you plan to consume your bread within a few days of purchase, you can store your bread at room temperature in a paper bag, bread box, or wrapped with a kitchen towel. If you would like to enjoy your bread for longer, consider freezing.

What about bagels?

The same storage options for our sourdough bread can apply to our bagels. If you plan to freeze your bagels, be sure to slice them before freezing for easy toasting.

Why is my bread not toasting?

Fresh bread can tend to take longer to toast than typical super market bread. You may need to turn up the dial on your toaster or take two round to get your desired color.
